However, they do have a few flaws, however, that prevent them from being our first choice. For instance, the Q5's navigation doesn't feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology, so it's prone to become entangled in shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate rooms with a lot of people efficiently in our tests. It also doesn't have cameras that let it see the corners of the room. It's still a good deal, especially if your office or home has a lot of bare floors and you're looking to save money. It's also quiet and operates when you're at work or school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming feature that's available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. And it's less effective at mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes that don't stay on very well and can't deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 does have an auto-emptying dock, however. And, if you need to, you can switch the mopping pad to dry ones in a matter of minutes. 2. IRobot Roomba The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact sleek and stylish vacuum cleaner that can mop floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps as well as nimble navigation make it easy to clean, and effective in tackling larger particles such as pet hair. It also has self-emptying dustbins with powerful suction and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, but it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning. This highly efficient combination vacuum and mop makes use of advanced sensors to stay clear of obstacles and pet waste, and it learns the layout of your home over time for more efficient cleaning. You can change the schedule of cleaning and even customize zones with the well-designed app. Its battery life is average when compared to other models. You can instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and extend them when in a carpeted area to prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm is ideal to get under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. It doesn't offer the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+. During testing, X30 Ultra was the most efficient robot vacuum/mop which could complete the task of cleaning a whole home with just 66 percent of its battery remaining. It also did an excellent job cleaning a variety of floors and rooms that had different flooring types, including some area rug. Its obstacle detection was excellent and it was able to avoid fake dog turds and socks, shoes and bundles cables. It's more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however it offers superior suction, a dustbin on board that automatically fills up its base, and also supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can also clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is something we haven't seen on other robotic vacuum/mop combos. 3. Roomba X40 from iRobot This robot vacuum and mop combination features a sleek, circular design that looks much like a Roomba unit than the boxy models from the competitors. It is one of our most attractive robot vacuums. The latest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest and has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads). It's the only robotic vacuum/mop that has 100% in our tests thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors, including cameras, a structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can fully autonomously refill and empty its base station, and boasts an the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads. The X40 as with other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It comes with an intuitive mobile app interface that is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that it's loud that could be a problem if you run it in the morning prior to work, or at night when you try to sleep. It's also somewhat expensive, but it's not as expensive as Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are equally powerful and look better. This is a dual-purpose vacuum that's very capable however, it's going to cost you more and produce more noise. 4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with a lot of advanced features that let you get rid of your chores. Like Ecovacs range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that takes the care of mopping and vacuuming. It comes with a multifunction dock that automatically empty the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank and washes and dry the mop pads. The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floorplans and identify obstacles. It navigates more intelligently than its competitors with premium features. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards, though this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and could be confused with power cords or obstructions. The vacuum cleaner has the capacity to suction up to 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. robot cleaner amazon features “Intelligent Dirt Detection”, that regulates the amount of time the vacuum works and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home according to how dirty they tend to be. If you have a bigger home, it's worth choosing a model that has zones or spot cleaning modes. It also mops using one pad, which uses a reciprocating motion that is cleaner than the other robot mop cleaners we've tried. And it's highly self-sufficient with a fully-featured app as well as an auto-emptying, washable base. The well-designed iRobot application guides you through an initial mapping exercise that collects information about your floorplan as well as any “no-go” areas you have marked on the map. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, set up a spot clean or to prioritize your most filthy rooms to ensure better performance. The app comes with a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings. It can also reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It is equipped with an impressive 8000 Pascal suction, as well as sophisticated combs that remove pet hair.
